The Garden in July

Not much of " Hey ho, Lets go" for me the last weeks, I had/ have a bad time with my health, but I did take some pictures of the garden.
Last month was very cold- again- but the last week the temperatures were all of a sudden about 29 degrees, the birds fell unconscious of the roof -so to say.
Last evening we had a lot of rain and the temperature is cooling down now.
We still see the deer from time to time in our garden, eating roses , and last week Mart saw her with her youngster, now already almost as big as mummy, with a begin of an antler on his head. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the both of them, but here is mum, a few weeks ago.

Years ago I saved a little mouse from a sudden death in a bucket filled with water, and put it on the lukewarm stove to recover a bit. As usual I had to lay down in the afternoon, and when I came out of bed a couple of hours later, it was gone.
It most have found another mouse on the ceiling and within about a month we had mouses everywhere:-(
We only had two old cats in that period so we had to use mousetraps....and catched about 40 or 50 mouses. No need to say that I won't bring a rescued mouse into the house the next time ( although we have 14 cats now).


The garden looks great at the moment, because of all the rain we had. I only watered it once  or twice this year ( we have 4 barrels with 1000 liters rainwater each).
The Hydrangea's are doing very well.

We have stones hanging on the house, our friends brought them from a trip to Normandy, they are only found on the beach there, a kind of fossil hole in each of them

And the last picture is the flower of Cichorium intybus, or Chicory in English. It first appeared last year and it is a beauty.

Hoya cv Viola and Hoya multiflora(Thailand) from the EPRIC foundation

Last friday evening I received an e-mail from Frank, the chairman of the EPRIC  foundation, that
there were new Hoya's for sale.
No need to tell that I looked immediately, and there it was, Hoya multiflora, the number one
on my wishlist!Yes!:-)
And my greedy eye also noticed another beauty, a Hoya cv Viola,so I ordered them both the
same evening.
When I looked the next day, they were both sold out.

Although I like the Hoya's to hang, as much as possible- I'm not a fan of trellisses- this one
tried to nest itself in the stained glass as soon as it stood there, so I gave it a bamboo stick, and
I hope that it is gonna hang later.
