Hoya 'Mathilde' from Emilio Begine

In april I contacted Mr. Begine after I saw that he held a sale at his house.
Since I am not able to travel long distances ( because of chronical illness) I asked him
if he also would send cuttings by mail, and last week I received Hoya 'Mathilde' cuttings
from him.
Emilio Begine is the original grower from this Hoya.
In 1994 he had both Hoya carnosa and Hoya serpens flowering and he discovered a seed pot
on the Hoya carnosa. It split open in january and Emilio sowed them in a terrarium, not thinking
that there could be a cross at that time.
In 1997 there were only two seedlings left, with leaves that didn't look like
the Hoya carnosa.
In 2000 he had the first blooms , that also were different as the Hoya carnosa, in flowers and in
smell.
He first gave them the name Hoya carnosa x serpens with a different clone number( BE 23 and
BE 24) but later - in 2003- he named them Hoya 'Mathilde' and  Hoya 'Chouke'. Mathilde after
one of the Belgium princesses and Chouke after his deceased wife.*

Here are the cuttings after I potted them, before putting them in my little greenhouse.

Mr. Begine was so kind to send me one cutting with umbels on it, it is on the right side in
the pot.

To show how the plant would grow, Emilio send me two pictures, that I may use for this
blog.
