Hoya Quinquenervia & Hoya cv Joy from EPRIC

Yesterday I received those two Hoya's from the EPRIC foundation in Huissen.

Hoya Quinquenervia

Interesting about this Hoya is that the holotype is destroyed in a bombardment in WW2.

Hoya's from Stenasa, Sweden

A few weeks ago I discovered Stenasa in a link on Christina's weblog (www.myhoyas.com),
and I was curious if someone outside Sweden had experience with them, so I asked that in a
Hoya forum on Facebook.
Someone from Germany had ordered there before and he had a good buy, so I ordered 4
Hoya's there.
Great service, Arne Kastberg is the owner if I'm not mistaken, I got immediately answers on my
questions.
Last monday the Hoya's were sent, and they arrived already the next wednesday!!!
Here they are:

Hoya sp. Gunung Gaiding

This one seemed to be one of the Hoya callistophylla's, beautiful leaves.

Hoya obovata

Hoya loherii

Hoya curtisii

This one wasn't fully rooted yet, so I put it in my little greenhouse.

The Garden in May

May has always been my most favorite time of the year, nature is green again, birds are singing,
and the days are longer.
Since early january we have a daily visitor in our garden, it's a very handsome male pheasant ,
he discovered the pans with corn we have for the chickens and the ducks on a -for him- good day,
and since than he is here for his meal twice a day.
We think it is very special, never before we had a pheasant more than once in our garden.
We named him: Jo-Dokus:-)
Even more special is, that he found a nice looking girl and he persuade her to come with him for
a snack.
I took the next picture from the kitchen window;

 In contrast with Jo-Dokus, the Mrs. is very shy, so if she thinks that there is  something
 suspicious she's gone.

The next pictures are from the other side of the house.

Here is Winnetou with two of his lady's;

The last two pictures are at the swing Mart made me for my 40th birthday- that is gonna be 8
years ago in August- no swinging now 'cause nature made her own great piece of flowergarden
there!

Schouwen- Duiveland, a trip in pictures

I made a whole lot of pictures on the island where we live, and I thought maybe funny to post a bunch of them.

I took most of the following pictures around the coastline , no city pictures this time, well, what do you call a city, Zierikzee is the main 'city' on the island,
and it only has about 35.000  residents. Maybe not much for someone who is used to it, but I am very happy to live in the middle of nowhere!:-)

At the back is the skyline of Zierikzee;

The Zeeland-bridge, a 5 kilometer long bridge between Schouwen-Duiveland and Noord-Beveland;

Brouwershaven very early in the morning;

And the last picture is one of the Oosterscheldekering, or, as you can say in English, the  Eastern
Scheldt storm surge barrier, very important because it protect us from flooding.
